West Central Trojan BOY’S Youth Basketball Classic

Tournament Date: February 6th, 2010 (Saturday)

Divisions: 4^th, 5^th, 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th

*The first 8 teams registered with payment in each division will be allowed into the tournament. 

*With a full tournament: each team will be guaranteed 3 games.

Registration: Team Fee is $100 before January 26th and $120 after.  Send checks and registration payable to: WC Boosters, attn: Troy Odegaard, 705 E 2nd St., Hartford, SD  57033

Players: An athlete must compete in their grade classification and on only one team.  Younger athletes may participate in an older division.  Player information must be correct and current.  If incorrect information is submitted, the player or team will be ineligible.

Site: Games will be played at the High School Becker Center(4-6th Grade), Hartford Elementary School (7th Grade), and Humboldt Elementary (8th Grade). 

Tournament Personnel: Referees, scorers, timekeepers and bracket supervisors will be volunteers.  Please, respect their decision-making and thank them for their time dedicated towards this event.

Awards: T-Shirts will be awarded to the champions of each grade division.  

Game Rules:

1. Games will be played with two 18-minute halves.  The clock will run continuous, stopping only for timeouts until the last 2 minutes of each half.  In the last two minutes of each half the clock will stop for all dead ball situations.
2. Overtimes will be 2 minutes in length, second overtime goes to sudden death.  Halftimes will be 5 minutes in length.  Time between games will be five minutes.
3. Each team will have 2 thirty-second timeouts per half.  Timeouts can’t be carried over to the second half. 
4. All teams must play man defense in the half court.  Any team ahead by more than 15 points may not play full-court defense.
   • 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Division can play only full-court Man (No Zone Presses)
   • Junior High Division can run any type of full-court press
5. The three point shot will be scored only where the floor is marked.
6. All teams must have basketball uniforms; jerseys should be marked.
7. All technical fouls will result in the automatic awarding of 2 points and the ball out of bounds.  Any player and/or coach receiving a second technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct will be removed from the game.
8. The intermediate size basketball will be used for all divisions.

Team Entry fee is $100 before Jan 26th, after is $120..  A team is not registered until fee and entry form as has been received.  T-Shirts will be given to the division champions.
